An
unnatural storm leaves The Alba Rose crippled and slowly sinking. With only a
few left alive and all hope, seemingly, lost, an island appears as their
savour. But the stars above are none they have chartered before; and the storm
rages on, relentless at sea, preventing their leave, while something dark and
terrible prowls the waves.
Is castle D’Aruvia their haven or their prison? Are they safer in its old, sinister
walls than in the blighted forests that stretch to the sea?
As a witch and an ancient vampire conspire to raise a dark goddess of the old world, Captain Harris and Nathaniel Fisher must fight to save, not only the lives of the shipwreck survivors, but their mortal souls.
Which is stronger: the darkness or the starlight?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Cherilyn L Rayner is a writer of Gothic fantasy and, occasionally, gloomy poetry. Her inspiration comes from all things dark and tragic; from Gothic literature, stormy skies and misty woodlands. She lives in a particularly woody, and oftentimes muddy, part of East Anglia, UK, with her family and many cats.
Cherilyn juggles writing and graphic design with gardening and feeding the many deer, pheasants, pigeons, crows and jackdaws that saunter around the garden demanding her attention.
Her soon-to-be-released debut novel, Of Blood & Dreams, is a labour of love, crafted over nearly two decades.
